I really don’t own a pizza spot but if I did I’d eat pizza every day. There’s a lot of great pizzerias on Staten Island, like Denino’s, Joe & Pat’s, Brothers, just to name a few. Since 1967
In 1967, I was born in Brooklyn, New York. Being a Native Brooklynite, I do know good pizza but I’m not a pizza-maker. If I was though, I’d use top-notch ingredients like fresh mozzarella, fresh ripe tomatoes, and freshly picked herbs.
My favorite pizzeria is Elegante Pizzeria, known colloquially as Elegante’s, located in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. Phil and Tony have been making pizza there since the 1970’s when I was growing up on nearby 72nd Street. Their sicilian pizza (squares) rule. They have great regular slices and calzones too. So give them a try.
